Description
Lime honey – honey for tea
Lime honey is a honey with a delicious sweet and mild taste. The honey has a yellow-green to dark yellow color and is beautifully liquid. The bees extract the honey from the nectar of lime blossoms. The honey is collected by the bees in early summer. You can also say that this honey is a real seasonal honey. This honey can also have a calming and relaxing effect. Experts call this honey the best and tastiest honey in terms of taste.
Use
Lime honey is delicious in tea. This is because it is a good liquid honey that does not crystallize quickly. The honey is calming so it is nice to put this in the tea in the evening, just before going to sleep. If you put the honey in the tea, you have to wait a while for the tea to cool and be drinkable. If you don’t do this, the healthy properties (enzymes) can disappear. The sweet and mild taste makes this a real addition to the tea!
Origin
The lime honey comes from the lime tree. The flowering time of lime trees is from mid-June to about mid-July. These lime trees are common in the Netherlands and chances are that they might be in your front or back garden. Our lime honey comes directly from Dutch beekeepers who keep beekeepers on their own soil.
Health
Lime honey is very healthy and has positive effects on insomnia, restlessness, nervousness and tension. The honey can be nice in the tea and so can be soothing and relaxing. The effects of the lime honey are also most evident when it is mixed with, for example, tea. In addition, this honey with tea is also used for colds and problems with the respiratory tract and fever.
