Late Summer Honey (Dutch)
Sovereign! Do you want to taste it?
This is a honey that no other honey can beat! Due to the heat and the dryness a delicious quality honey has been produced.
What are you going to taste? Cowberry, Rhamnus Frangula / Frangula Alnus. And we also do taste a hint of heather. So this is not the usual heather honey – but a very special one, with a hint of the spicy taste.
Perfect for a cup of tea or in yogurt!
Fits very well in desserts or in a dressing.
From time to time you can just enjoy a spoonful of pure honey, a really delicious aromatic honey.
And read the story here!
“Every year from July 28, we go to the heather fields… to experience the blossom of the heather. With ‘blossom’ we mean all the conditions for a good harvest. Enough flowers that receive sufficient moisture from the soil and from the air. But also enough heat; neither too much nor too little.
If it is optimal, the flower produces nectar and thus attracts our bees. That’s what beekeepers call “blossom of the heather” At one point we went there, but our expectations weren’t that high. It was a very hot and dry summer. All of nature was craving for water that time. However we were really surprised! No, not with dreamy purple plains – not even with a great honey harvest. No – it was very little – but … The honey we found in some of the hives was beautiful. “
