Deliciously soft in taste
Balsam honey has a wonderful scent and soft taste. It is a light honey that remains liquid for a long time.
This honey comes from the Dutch Biesbosch National park, one of the most special nature reserves in The Netherlands.
There grows the spring balsam, an annual plant that can reach a height of 2.5 meters.
If good weather, the pink flowers provide nectar, which the bees collect for honey.
Like heather, the spring balsam’s blossom is one of the latest of the year.
The flowering time of this plant is from July to October.
Balsam honey can be used in hot drinks or on bread.
