Natural remedy for fungal nail
It is well known that propolis has several curative properties, including an anti-fungal action. You can use propolis for a longer period of time. We have therefore wondered whether propolis also works on fungal nails. The research showed that propolis is a promising agent for treating fungal nails.
What are fungal nails?
Fungal nails are toe or fingernails that are infected with fungus. Fungal nails usually start with the descoloration of the nail. The infection often starts on the nail edges. Than the infection moves from the surface to the inside of the nail.
Note:
It may also be the case that the nail has suffered a severe trauma (bumped onto something or dropped something heavy on it). The nail color changes from blue to black and usually the nail falls off by itself because a new one grows underneath. This should not be confused with nail fungus!
There are clear symptoms that indicate a fungal nail infection. You may notice the following features:
- Your nails will start to look dull and lose their natural shine
- The edge of the nail discolours
- White or yellow spots in the center of the nail
- Thickening of the nail, which can also become brittle
- The nail crumbles and splits, or even peels off the skin
- Discomfort when wearing shoes, walking or standing for a long time
If you recognize these symptoms, it is important to act quickly. If you don’t treat the infection, there is a chance that it will spread to other nails as well.
Anti-fungal effect of propolis
It is well known that propolis has several curative properties, including an anti-fungal action. You can use propolis for a longer period of time. We have therefore wondered whether propolis also works on fungal nails.
A number of people have voluntarily participated in a trial to use propolis to treat their fungal nails., The trial showed that propolis is a promising tool to treat fungal nails . Because it helped more than half of the patients. The anti-fungal effect of propolis against the cause of fungal nails (trichiphyton) is excellent.
About 50% of all nail diseases consist of nail fungus (Source: NCBI investigation ). Since the treatment of fungal nails is not always 100% effective, the problem can return over time. The treatment of fungal nails is a constant challenge. In addition, the use of chemical agents such as pills and laser treatments often gives unpleasant side effects. Treatments on a natural basis that work are therefore a godsend. Propolis works against several fungi. Think of several Candida species, including Candida albicans. But it is also effective against Trochophyton.
How do you use propolis with fungal nails?
Good hygiene is important – wash your feet with soap and brush them daily. It is best to treat fungal nails with Mother tincture drops or Propolis ointment 30%. Apply propolis twice a day to the fungus spot. Keep it up by doing it every day, because propolis doesn’t solve within 1 day 🙂
On average, it takes a few weeks for the result to become visible. It is even better to apply this for several months.
For your information: Propolis will make your nail yellow / brown in color, don’t worry, you don’t have to remove that layer of propolis, just apply new drops / cream on top. After a while propolis will disappear by itself. To remove it faster, you can have this done with pedicure.
